Second Wind Publishing Newsletter — August 2012

There is a lot going on with Second Wind Publishing lately, and we’d like to share our news with you.

Congratulations to Cynthia Hepner! Her short story “Grandma’s Cookies” won our most recent short story contest. The story (and her recipe for molasses cookies!) will be included in Second Helpings, a holiday anthology/cookbook to be published later this fall.

Second Wind Publishing will have a booth at the Route 66 international Festival on August 10th and 11th. If you are going go to be in the Victorville, California vicinity that weekend, please come see us! You can sign up for a free ebook, and you can meet Pat Bertram, who will be signing her books. You can find us at table ten in the Alaska Building at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds in Victorville. So stop by and we can all get our kicks on Route 66.

We’re closing in on 100 titles! Soon to be released are Come Home to Me, Child by Sally Jones and Lazarus Barnhill, Roan Rose by Juliet Waldron, and Writing Tips and Techniques from Authors of Second Wind Publishing.

Seven Second Wind authors are collaborating to write a mystery online. Residents of Rubicon Ranch are finding body parts scattered all over the desert. Who was the victim and why did someone want him so very dead? Everyone in this upscale housing development is hiding something. Everyone has an agenda. Everyone’s life will be different after they have encountered the Rubicon. Rubicon Ranch, that is. No one knows the ending, not even the authors, and they won’t know until the story is written. So stop by and see the story as it is developing. Welcome to “Rubicon Ranch: Necropieces”

To introduce you to Rubicon Ranch, you can get a free download on the first book in the series — Rubicon Ranch: Riley’s Story. A little girl’s body has been found in the wilderness near the desert community of Rubicon Ranch. Was it an accident? Or . . . murder! But who would want to kill a child? Everyone in this upscale housing development is hiding something. To get your free ebook  on Smashwords.com, go here: Rubicon Ranch: Riley’s Story and use coupon code GV39G when ordering.
