Congratulations! You exist! Here we are. Existing. Taking in the oxygen, producing the carbon dioxide. Doing whatever it is to get us up in the morning just so we can groan and moan all day up until we crawl into bed that night to wonder what the meaning of life is until three o’clock in the morning. This is not living. That is just painful.
There is so much out there. It’s just waiting for somebody, anybody, to take a risk and just go for it. Remember a time back when you thought you could do anything? ANYTHING. Maybe you thought you were the reincarnation of Pocahontas (the happier, smallpox free, Disney version) climbing waterfalls and chasing the wind or maybe you wore a towel tucked into your shirt collar and knew in that very moment that you could fly if you truly believed. It was mythical; a feeling of completeness. Take that instant, that moment in time, and dwell on it. Pick up a pencil, paintbrush, broken crayon, or whatever media you choose and try to explain that feeling. It is nearly impossible to complete in one sitting. It’s a process that must be nurtured. Chase that sense of wonder and passion for living and learning.
How can that wonder and passion be manifested? Well, it’s an individual journey. It can be found in the farthest corners of the universe. Maybe a personal expedition to Antarctica is something that motivates some. It can be found in the day to day common atmosphere. Sending that simple handwritten note to an old friend may be something that drives others. Just take the time to recognize, appreciate, and love what you have. If you have the courage, chase what you want. At the very least, tell someone you love them because no matter what the outcome or response, at the very least, one more person will know that they are loved.
